Heading to Quincy, IL this weekend
We had a great time in Branson, including going to a few shows. One was Dolly Parton's Stampede.
There are a lot of horses in the show, so the entrance is through the horse paddock.
There was a lot of hillbilly music and humor in the show. I loved it! Corny is right in my wheelhouse.
Plus singing and dancing.
Cows and buffalos
And of course horses!
This one jumped through a ring of fire.
The grand finale was a bit wild.
It was all fun. We went to a couple of other low key tribute band concerts too - CCR and Southern Rock. The walls of the theater were lined with guitars used by the likes of John Fogarty.
There were light shows and videos playing in the background, so here is a shot of the stage before the show.
There is so much kitsch in Branson; we saw something different each time we drove the main drag.
This car is covered in Canadian pennies |
The Titanic! |
My favorite - the giant meatball |
The clock tower is just past the entrance and is made from beautiful stone.
And then lovely Lake Honor is right next to the clock. Small, but interesting school.
