Next Up: El Paso, Texas and other Texas locations
We have been busy since the coach batteries were replaced - making up for lost time.
It was just a 30 minute drive down to the cute little artsy town called Tubac.
We checked out some of little shops that line the streets.
There are many art galleries, too. I liked this one with the sculpture garden. The sun was behind some big clouds so it was hard to get a good photos.
The decor was stunning.
The chips and salsa - look at the size of those chips!
There was a small gift shop next to the restaurant. I loved the pineapples.
Our friend Juan Bautista de Anza started his expedition from Tubac to California in 1774. We didn't visit the Presidio in Tubac, but we were able to actually walk part of the Anza trail there. Much of the trail was washed out, but we hiked in a 1/2 mile or so.
We saw this familiar sign along the way.
And we found some beautiful ferns growing next to a creek!
While we were in Phoenix, we saw lots of signs for wild burros, but never really saw any. Right next to the Anza trail were some burros that lived on a farm. Not wild, but burros all the same.
When they saw me, they came running. Ha! My friends.
