BINGO!
Not your Grandma's Bingo!

These large RV Parks have lots of activities and social events.  We joined our friends to play Bingo.  It's played with a deck of cards and is very simple, and fun!  We both almost had a winner, but, nah.

I started the day with a walk through the State Park that is just behind our RV.

Saw this cool spider web.
The trees were full of herons, just like this one.

The laurel trees are pretty.

On a previous walk through the state park, Johnny and I saw this sign.  We didn't see any alligators, but it was kinda creepy.
And some ducks in the lake.
These are white pelicans that we saw most afternoons.

That afternoon there was picnic right there in the park.  Music, food and people are all you need.

We got our drinks in the back of a pick up truck - reminds me of college!
Our last full day in Mercedes a group of us went to South Padre Island to soak up some sun.
But first we went to the Turtle Refuge.
We saw a presentation and learned about how necessary turtles are to the eco system.
This organization also rescues injured and sick turtles.   We walked around and looked a t some of them.  I tried to get photos of the tanks where the turtles were swimming, but the glare was bad.
Laguna Bob's was the place for lunch!
Peel and eat shrimp - yum.
The Wanna Wanna Bar had a great view.
Sue took our leftover fries to the beach to feed the birds.

The "girls"
Tonya and Gary rode over in our car.  I think they were ready to go home by the time we finished a pizza dinner.  We had a full and fun day on SPI!
